How We Ranked Them
Ranking fragrances is unavoidably subjective — but we applied a consistent framework across four criteria: longevity (hours on skin in European climate), projection (how far the scent carries), compliment rate (responses from non-fragrance wearers over a two-week test), and versatility (number of occasions the fragrance works for). Price was treated as a constant — everything here is under €20 for a 5ml decant.
We also weighted heavily for what we call the surprise factor — the experience of smelling something that simply does not feel like it costs what it costs. Arabian fragrances over-deliver on this almost universally. The seven below over-deliver more than any others in our collection.
The Ranking
The fragrance that started the Arabian decant conversation in Europe. Khamrah opens with cinnamon and cognac — warm, slightly boozy, immediately distinctive. The heart settles into rich oud and rose, and the dry-down is pure caramelised amber: sweet, enveloping, impossible to ignore. It smells, without exaggeration, like a fragrance that costs €300. It consistently receives the highest compliment rate of anything in our collection — from people who have never heard of Lattafa, who simply stop and ask what you are wearing.
In cold weather it becomes extraordinary. The amber base blooms rather than fades, and the projection intensifies. Wear it on the first cold evening of October and you will understand why it has over 4,800 five-star reviews.
Try Khamrah →The most versatile fragrance in this ranking. Club de Nuit Intense opens with fresh pineapple and blackcurrant — bright, assertive, immediately recognisable to anyone who has encountered the fresh-woody masculine category. The heart is birch and cedar with an almost smoky quality; the base settles into clean amber and musk that works in any setting from morning meetings to Saturday evenings.
It is compared constantly — and fairly — to Aventus by Creed (€395) and Bleu de Chanel EDP (€145). It does not perfectly replicate either, but it belongs in the same olfactive territory and performs as long or longer on skin. For a fragrance you can wear to work, on dates, and everywhere in between, nothing in our collection competes at this price point.
Try Club de Nuit Intense →Swiss Arabian's sophisticated take on the fresh-woody masculine — and the fragrance in this ranking most likely to be mistaken for something from a Parisian niche counter. Royal Bleu opens with bergamot and a clean aquatic accord — crisp, polished, immediately professional. The heart reveals a woody-amber core with a whisper of vetiver, giving it structure and depth without heaviness. The base is clean sandalwood and musk, close to skin, exceptionally long-wearing.
It is the fragrance on this list that draws the most comparisons to Bleu de Chanel EDP — not as an imitation, but as a genuine interpretation of the same clean, sophisticated masculine territory. It works in every setting: business meetings, first dates, or simply the best version of a Tuesday. At €17.90 for a 5ml decant it represents one of the most understated values in this collection.
Try Royal Bleu →The gourmand entry on this list — and the one most likely to earn compliments from people who claim not to like perfume. Dahaab Safi opens sweet: vanilla, caramel, a hint of marshmallow. The middle deepens with sandalwood and warm spice, preventing it from tipping into dessert territory. The base is clean amber and musk — wearable, warm, and comforting in a way that is genuinely difficult to resist.
It is a unisex fragrance that skews toward the feminine in practice but wears beautifully on any skin. In autumn and winter it is exceptional layered under Khamrah — the two together create something richer than either alone.
Try Dahaab Safi →Where Khamrah is rich and assertive, Asad is refined and structured. It opens with bergamot and citrus — bright, clean, immediately wearable — before transitioning to cedar and spice in the heart. The base is warm amber and musk, close to skin, long-lasting without overwhelming. It is the fresh-masculine answer in the Lattafa catalogue: what you wear when you want to smell considered without effort.
Asad is particularly well-suited to the European professional environment. It sits at a projection level that is noticeable to those close to you without announcing itself across a room. The kind of fragrance people ask about at the end of a meeting, not the beginning.
Try Asad →The most directly feminine entry on this list — and the one most likely to draw comparisons to fragrances costing three times as much. Mélodie de Parfum opens with bergamot and pink pepper: bright, slightly spiced, immediately attention-grabbing. The heart is a lush rose and jasmine accord — romantic, warm, clearly quality — before settling into a base of sandalwood, amber and vanilla musk that wears beautifully on skin through the end of the evening.
It consistently draws comparisons to Delina by Parfums de Marly (€375) and La Vie Est Belle by Lancôme (€110) — not as an imitation, but as a fragrance that shares the same DNA: elevated floral femininity with excellent longevity and a generous sillage. At €15.90 for a 5ml decant it is one of the most remarkable values in this ranking.
Try Mélodie de Parfum →The wildcard. Kismet Angel opens with a burst of fruity sweetness — pear, peach, a hint of raspberry — that softens quickly into rose and jasmine. The heart is unexpectedly sensual for such an accessible opening: a warm floral with oud just beneath the surface. The base is clean musk and amber, making it a fragrance that layers exceptionally well with richer scents in the collection.
It is the most frequently recommended fragrance for those new to Arabian perfumery who prefer florals over gourmands or ouds. Worn alone it is light and approachable; layered with Khamrah or Dahaab Safi it takes on unexpected depth. At €10.90 for a 5ml decant it is also the most affordable entry point on this list.
Try Kismet Angel →How We Tested
Every fragrance in this ranking was worn across a minimum of three separate occasions — once in the morning on a working day, once in the evening in a social setting, and once outdoors in cooler temperatures. Longevity was measured from first spray to when the fragrance was no longer detectable on skin by a third party. Projection was assessed at 30cm, 1 metre and across a room.
Compliment tests were informal: we simply wore each fragrance in regular settings and noted unprompted responses. The results were clear and consistent — Khamrah generated the highest response rate by a significant margin, followed by Club de Nuit Intense in professional settings and Mélodie de Parfum in evening and social settings.
The Case for Decants
Every fragrance on this list is available as a 2ml, 5ml or 10ml decant from NUR Fragrances. A 2ml decant gives you 40 sprays — enough to wear a fragrance properly for a full week before deciding. A 5ml gives you 100 sprays and 4–6 weeks of daily wear. Both are drawn from sealed original bottles.
The logic is simple: no fragrance smells the same on everyone. Skin chemistry, diet, climate and personal preference all affect the final result. A 2ml decant lets you discover what works on your skin before committing to anything larger. At €9.90 for a 2ml, the risk of trying something new is as close to zero as it can be.
Our Discovery Trio takes this a step further — three 2ml decants, curated into sets, at €19.90. It is the most popular starting point for new customers and the format we most recommend for first-time buyers.
Start with Khamrah. Add Club de Nuit Intense. Build from there.
If you are new to Arabian fragrances and want to start with one, make it Khamrah — nothing in European fragrance at this price point earns compliments as consistently. If you want something more versatile for daily professional wear, Club de Nuit Intense or Royal Bleu. If you prefer floral or gourmand, Mélodie de Parfum or Dahaab Safi. The seven on this list cover every mood, occasion and season — all for under €20 a decant.
